Most of the thumb implants recovered 2 to 3 weeks after surgery. After thumb implantation, the dressing is usually removed in 4~5 days to check the survival of the skin flap and to start warm hand water bath with 0.05% benzalkonium bromide solution. After the water bath, continue to bandage and splint fixation, but should not be too tight, so that the fingers can be mild activity is appropriate. If the skin flap grows well, the dressing can be gradually reduced and the intensity of active exercise can be gradually increased. 8 days after implantation, release the dressing, self-care feeding. 9~10 days to start the use of physical therapy equipment exercise: maximum flexion and extension of the fingers and the tiger’s mouth wide open. If only the skin of the I degree, deep II degree burns, skin graft growth is good, 2 weeks after the operation, hand flexion and extension function can be basically restored. If some of the skin fragments are poorly viable or the remaining trauma is not implanted, additional skin grafting is required about 12 days after the previous operation. After surgery, warm baths and functional exercises as described above can still restore good function within 3 weeks. After discharge from the hospital, wear elastic gloves, continue the functional exercises, make continuous improvement in managing daily life, and return to the hospital for regular review.
