Is it normal to bleed a lot after a hysteroscopy

Whether heavy bleeding after a hysteroscopy is normal or not needs to be determined on a case-by-case basis. Normal bleeding is less for hysteroscopy and more for hysteroscopic surgery.
1. Bleeding after hysteroscopy: hysteroscopy requires dilation of the uterine orifice, the hysteroscope needs to enter the uterine cavity, the uterus is in a state of dilation, and the damage to small blood vessels when dilating the cervix causes bleeding. Endometrial biopsy of hysteroscopy will also cause a small amount of bleeding, there is no need to do special treatment, the bleeding will stop within 3 to 7 days. During this period, you need to pay attention to hygiene to avoid infection.
If the bleeding is heavy or prolonged, it is abnormal and you need to go to the hospital for ultrasound examination to determine the cause of the heavy bleeding.
2. Bleeding after hysteroscopic surgery: Hysteroscopic surgery causes more damage to the endometrium and may cause more bleeding. If the bleeding does not exceed the amount of menstruation and the duration of bleeding does not exceed 7 days after the surgery, observation is sufficient. If the bleeding is too heavy and prolonged, accompanied by abdominal pain and fever, you need to go to the hospital in time, and if necessary, you need emergency curettage or hospitalization for fluid therapy.
After hysteroscopy if the bleeding is heavy, please go to the hospital immediately, under the guidance of the doctor active treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
