Is m3 leukemia serious?

M3 leukemia, or acute promyelocytic leukemia (AML-M3), is more severe, but this type is currently the best treated of the acute leukemias.
Acute promyelocytic leukemia is a special type of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) characterized by a predominance of granulomatous promyelocytes in the bone marrow. The initial onset of the disease is often accompanied by a tendency to DIC and severe bleeding manifestations, with a high early mortality rate and a more aggressive condition, which used to be a lethal subtype of leukemia.
However, at present, through the treatment of all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic agents (such as arsenic trioxide), acute promyelocytic has become a subtype with better prognosis among the leukemia types, and basically no need for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation to obtain cured leukemia.
Acute promyelocytic leukemia should actively cooperate with the doctor for treatment, in order to obtain a good prognosis of the disease. All of the above drugs should be used in accordance with medical advice.
