Is it okay to have a urine test and eat?

Laboratory urine tests can be performed after eating, and it is not mandatory that fasting is required. After a normal diet, there is no significant effect on the indicators in the urine, i.e., the patient only needs to retain random urine for a routine urine test, and no fasting is required. If a normal urine routine reveals relevant abnormalities, the results will need to be reviewed depending on the specific abnormalities. It may be necessary to maintain a fasting status at the time of review, which is often seen in patients with diabetes. In diabetic patients, elevated blood glucose after eating can cause elevated urine sugar. If elevated sugar is present, it is recommended that the patient retest the urine routine on an empty stomach or have another fasting blood glucose measurement to rule out diabetes. Abnormalities in other items are not related to diet, even if diet or no diet does not cause abnormalities in other items of urine, so urinalysis can be performed after eating.
