What is enhanced CT used for?

Enhanced CT refers to the injection of a certain concentration of iodine water into the blood vessels at a certain rate, which is used to enhance the difference between the diseased tissue and the surrounding normal tissue, thus clearly displaying the lesion and facilitating the characterization of the lesion. Enhanced CT can show the size, extent, benignity and malignancy of the lesion as well as the damage to the surrounding tissues and organs. Therefore, for certain diseases, especially tumors, enhanced CT examinations are necessary. For inflammatory diseases, CT is not recommended if there is no possibility of lesions. CT imaging of blood vessels is also considered an enhancement scan.
