When orthodontics is still on the fence, don’t pull your teeth first!

The proportion of orthodontic patients with extracted teeth in China is quite high, generally between 55% and 65% according to statistics from different sources, taking its median value to be around 60%, right? There are limitations to orthodontics, so before orthodontics you must ask yourself what you really want to achieve and change. Let the doctor know clearly how much of a gap there is between the limitations of the profession and your expectations. Orthodontics is a long-term process, before orthodontics must ask yourself whether your perseverance can guarantee a successful transformation in the future? The mindset of orthodontics is important! Before orthodontics must feel that they are defective in some way, or some aspect is not perfect, must be their own urgent need to correct, so that the slight unpleasantness encountered in the process of correction will not become a stumbling block. Three days ago, a first-time patient was seen in the clinic, because the “mouth protruding teeth” to correct, of course, is also through an acquaintance referred. The clinical examination was still convex, of course, and the three first bicuspids in the mouth had been extracted. I said, “Have you ever had orthodontic treatment before? He told me that I was ready for orthodontics before, but the doctor decided that the plan was to extract the teeth, so they were extracted! When the last tooth was left, the clinic moved, so she suspended it. And didn’t go to the doctor, and the doctor didn’t go to her! Don’t owe each other anything. What I need to criticize about the doctor is: moved, still responsible for all patients, do your duty to inform! Your patient has extracted a tooth, where exactly did it go? I think such a doctor is not a good doctor, at least not a good and responsible one. I think it’s understandable for a patient to think any way! She thought, anyway, it is necessary to pull out the teeth, early and late extraction is the same. I wanted to get it done myself, but my junior year was coming up, and the clinic moved, so I just wanted to get it done later, but this late orthodontic treatment was delayed for 10 years!
