What’s wrong with the lymph nodes in your chin?

Jaw is the common name for the lower jaw. Lymph node pain in the jaw is commonly associated with lymphadenitis, and tumors and reactive hyperplasia may also be present.
1. Lymphadenitis: the lymph nodes in this region are connected to the lymph nodes in the oral cavity, pharynx, anterior cervical region and the respiratory system. If the patient has infectious lesions in the above mentioned systems, such as gingivitis, periodontitis, tonsillitis, pharyngolaryngitis, thyroiditis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Bacteria, viruses and other pathogenic microorganisms may invade the lymph nodes in the jaw, leading to lymphadenitis and local pain.
2. Tumor: If the patient has lymphoma, lymphatic metastasis, etc., the lymph nodes may be enlarged and painful.
3. Reactive hyperplasia: it is mainly seen in necrotizing hyperplastic lymphadenopathy, serum sickness and serum sickness-like reaction, etc. After the onset of the disease, the patient may also have pain in the lymph nodes of the jaw.
It is recommended that patients go to the hospital surgery, through the history taking, physical examination and ultrasound, blood routine, pathology and other auxiliary examinations, to clarify the cause of the lesion, and then actively take medication or surgical treatment.
