Infectious mononucleosis is not a serious disease, and most of it resolves spontaneously, but it may produce more uncomfortable symptoms, and a few patients have relapses or a poor prognosis. Infectious mononucleosis is an acute but self-limiting disease caused by EBV infection. The main symptoms of infection are fever, enlarged lymph nodes, throat discomfort, and in a few patients, skin rash, enlarged liver and spleen, and neurological damage. Most patients are able to recover from the infection on their own, and although they are prone to high fever and other symptoms, they can be effectively relieved by taking active measures. It can be effectively prevented by strengthening protection in daily life. It should be noted that a small number of patients are at risk of relapse, and the prognosis for people with immunodeficiency is generally poor.
