Can cracked gums heal on their own?

Whether or not cracked gum flesh can heal on its own depends on the severity of the injury and why it occurred. If the gums are mildly scratched they can usually heal on their own, while those that are severe or caused by other diseases are usually difficult to heal on their own.
Causes of cracked gums include gum trauma, periodontal disease, and gum recession.
1. Gingival trauma: Gingival flesh cracking caused by trauma, such as sharp knife and fork cuts, falls and bumps, etc., if the symptoms are mild, it can generally be self-healing. If the wound is deeper or larger and has exposed the root of the tooth, the gums should be sutured.
2. Periodontal disease: If the disease continues to develop, it can cause the gums to detach from the teeth and the gums to crack and erode, which can only be healed through active treatment such as medication or surgery, and generally cannot be healed by itself.
3. Gum recession: this disease is an irreversible disease that cannot heal itself. Aggressive treatment can only control or slow down the process of gum recession.
In addition to the above diseases, gingivitis can also cause the above symptoms. It is recommended to consult a doctor in time to identify the cause of the disease and carry out targeted treatment.
