What to do if you bite your tongue

  It is easy to bite your tongue during daily food chewing and speech. It usually takes three to five days to heal, and a bitten tongue can be treated in several ways.  The first thing to do for a bitten tongue is to apply pressure to stop the blood flowing out of the blood vessels due to pressure. This is usually done by holding the tongue against the palate while pressing the bitten area with ice. If the bleeding symptom of the bitten part is relatively light, you can use light salt water to clean the mouth, which can help prevent wound infection, and salt water also helps the wound to heal and can control the bacterial activity of the bitten part. You can also use hydrogen peroxide to gargle, hydrogen peroxide helps the wound healing, can remove some necrotic tissue on the wound surface, you can also directly apply hydrogen peroxide to the wound site. At the same time to take some anti-inflammatory drugs, to help the wound healing.  If the bite site wound is very large, go to the dentist in time to take suture treatment. If the bite is caused by misaligned teeth, it is recommended to correct the misaligned teeth in time; if it is caused by ill-fitting dentures, it is recommended to ensure that the dentures are fitted correctly.  Usually, if the tongue is bitten, it is recommended to take the appropriate treatment according to its severity.
