How chronic snacking affects children

The main effects of long-term snacking on children include affecting growth and development, causing dental caries, weight gain and so on.
Snacks are what all children like to eat, but eating snacks for a long period of time can also have certain effects on health, such as backward growth and development, dental caries, weight gain, malnutrition and so on. This is because most snacks are junk food and their nutritional value is low.
Long-term or large quantities of snacks may affect the intake of staple foods, thus failing to meet the nutrients needed for the growth and development of babies, resulting in malnutrition, slow growth and weight gain. In addition part of the snacks in the sugar is relatively high, long-term eating may produce dental caries, weight gain.
Childhood is a critical period of growth and development, and its demand for energy, protein and nutrients is high. Therefore, long-term snacking is not recommended. It is recommended to have a balanced daily intake of four or more of these food groups, mainly cereals and potatoes, meat, dairy, eggs, vitamin A-rich fruits and vegetables, other fruits and vegetables, beans and their products/nuts.
