Ovarian chocolate cyst is not scary.
Ovarian chocolate cysts are endometriotic cysts occurring on the ovary, and patients mostly take progressive aggravation of dysmenorrhea as the main manifestation. The disease is a benign lesion, so it is not terrible, but it should be noted that the disease has the manifestation of malignant tumors such as hyperplasia, infiltration, metastasis, recurrence, and so on, and so it can’t be completely cured.
For smaller ovarian chocolate cysts, short-acting contraceptives such as drospirenone ethinyl estradiol tablets or subcutaneous injection of gonadotropin-releasing hormone analogs (GnRH) can be used as prescribed by the doctor; for larger cysts, they can be surgically stripped away, and the uterus and bilateral adnexa need to be removed if necessary.
For patients who are found to have ovarian chocolate cysts, it is recommended that they go to a regular hospital in time, complete the relevant examinations, clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of the doctor, and actively target treatment to avoid further development of the disease and reduce its recurrence.
