Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San is mainly used for treating spleen deficiency and dampness evidence, and is not effective in regulating spleen and kidney yang deficiency, which can be regulated with Radix Rehmanniae Pills.
Spleen and kidney yang deficiency is often manifested as cold limbs (cold body), 晄white color (white and without luster), soreness and weakness of the waist and knees, and cold pain in the abdomen. Prolonged diarrhea and dysentery, diarrhea at five o’clock (diarrhea before dawn), diarrhea (loose stools with undigested food), dysuria (unruly urination), swelling of limbs and so on.
Pian Zi Lizhong Pill is from “Taiping Huimin Hejian Burei Fang” Volume 5, composed of Pian Zi, ginseng, dry ginger, licorice, and atractylodes. In the formula, Pian Zi warms the yang and dispels the cold, and is accompanied by ginger to warm the yang in the middle, atractylodes strengthens the spleen and drying the dampness, ginseng strengthens the qi and strengthens the spleen, and roasted licorice replenishes the middle to support the correctness, and reconciles the various medicines (and different medicinal properties of Chinese medicines). The combination of the five herbs has the effect of warming the yang, dispelling cold, benefiting the qi and strengthening the spleen.
Its effects are warming the spleen and dispersing cold, stopping diarrhea and relieving pain. It can be used for treating coldness in the spleen and stomach, low food intake and fullness, abdominal pain and vomiting, faint pulse and limb syncope, cholera, headache, and all cold diseases. Avoid eating cold food during the medication, pregnant women should not take, adverse reactions are not clear.
