What type of virus is the new coronavirus?

The new coronavirus, called novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), belongs to the beta genus of coronaviruses.
According to the new coronavirus pneumonia diagnosis and treatment program issued by the National Health Commission, the new coronavirus belongs to the β genus of new coronaviruses, has an envelope, and the particles are round or oval in shape, with a diameter of about 60~140nm.
The new coronavirus has five essential genes targeting four structural proteins, namely nucleoprotein (N), viral envelope (E), matrix protein (M), and spiny protein (S), as well as RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp).
The nucleoprotein (N) wraps the RNA genome to form the nucleocapsid and surrounds the viral envelope (E), which is embedded with proteins such as matrix proteins (M) and spiny proteins (S).
At present, the new coronavirus is a global infectious disease, the daily need to pay attention to self-protection, strictly wear masks, pay attention to wash hands, open windows and ventilation, avoid going to places where people gather.
