Codonopsis is sweet in flavor and flat in nature. It belongs to the spleen and lung meridian. It has the effect of strengthening the spleen, benefiting the lungs, nourishing blood and promoting the production of fluids, and can be used to treat deficiency of the spleen and lungs, insufficiency of qi and blood, yellowish color, palpitation, shortness of breath, coughing and asthma, and internal heat and thirst (internal heat accompanied by symptoms such as eating, drinking and urinating). It is not suitable to be used with Wu Ling Ling Ling Quatro.
Yam is sweet in flavor and flat in nature. It belongs to the spleen, lung and kidney meridians. It has the effects of tonifying the spleen, nourishing the stomach, generating fluid and benefiting the lung, tonifying the kidney and astringing the essence. It can be used to treat spleen deficiency with little food, kidney deficiency with spermatorrhea, loose stool and diarrhea (diarrhea with thin and unshaped feces), excessive leukorrhea, and lung deficiency with wheezing and coughing.
Job’s tears are sweet, light and cool in nature. It belongs to the spleen, stomach and lung meridians. It has the effect of inducing diuresis and seepage of dampness (promoting the flow of water to get rid of dampness), strengthening the spleen and stopping diarrhea, removing paralysis, draining pus, and detoxifying and dispersing knots. It can be used in the treatment of edema, dysuria (irregular urination), diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, and warts (sarcoma on the skin). Use with caution for pregnant women.
Although drinking water with ginseng, Chinese yam and Job’s tears has the above effects, it has limited effects and cannot be used to treat diseases.
