Which is more serious: coronary heart disease or cardiomyopathy?

Coronary heart disease is more serious compared to cardiomyopathy. Coronary artery disease, also called coronary atherosclerotic heart disease, is caused by a narrowing of the coronary artery lumen resulting in insufficient blood and oxygen supply to the heart muscle, while cardiomyopathy is caused by irreversible damage to the heart muscle due to heart valve disease, fulminant myocarditis, and even genetic factors. Therefore, both are more serious compared to cardiomyopathy. In terms of treatment options, coronary artery disease can be treated conservatively with medications, coronary stenting surgery, and surgical open-heart bypass surgery. Cardiomyopathy, on the other hand, can only be treated conservatively with medications to prolong the patient’s life, so that the patient’s symptoms can be reduced and the heart’s function can be restored. Therefore, compared to both, if cardiomyopathy occurs, it is more important to pay attention to active treatment.
