About 1.2 million women worldwide suffer from breast cancer and 500,000 die from breast cancer every year. Compared with developed countries, China is a low incidence area of breast cancer, but the incidence rate has increased significantly in recent years. At present, the incidence rate of breast cancer in China is more than 4 per 10,000, and breast cancer diagnosis and treatment still has the characteristics of “one fast, one low and one poor”, that is, the incidence rate is growing fast, with an annual growth rate of 3% to 4%; the early detection is low, with no more than 20% of patients in stage 1, compared with 80% in the United States; the awareness of screening is poor, and most patients go to hospitals for treatment only after they have symptoms. In recent years, the incidence of breast cancer is significantly younger, with a peak age of 40-49 years, 10-15 years earlier than that of Western women. Early detection and treatment are effective, and the cure rate of stage 1 breast cancer reaches over 90%. It is worth to be alerted that the incidence of breast cancer seems to have the characteristics of “urbanization” and “high-end population”, and the prevalence of breast cancer in the relatively developed cities in the east and south is significantly higher than that in the less developed areas in the central and western regions and rural areas; the proportion of brain workers is significantly higher than that of manual workers. The proportion of brain workers is significantly higher than that of manual workers. Therefore, some people call breast cancer “the number one killer of urban women”. For breast cancer patients, the completion of surgery does not mean “once and for all”, and they need to receive comprehensive treatment including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy and targeted therapy according to the degree of their disease. Studies show that the cure rate for early stage patients is 80% and for stage I patients is over 90%!
