Merova is the trade name for Rituximab Injection, and there may be long term side effects after infusion of Rituximab Injection.
Distant side effects of this drug may include bacterial and viral infections; hematologic and lymphatic disorders, such as neutropenia and leukopenia; immune system disorders, such as angioedema and hypersensitivity reactions; gastrointestinal symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting; itching of the skin and skin rashes; and systemic side effects, such as fever, chills, weakness, and headache.
Severe bronchospasm, pulmonary infiltration, acute respiratory distress syndrome, myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, anaphylaxis, and even death can occur; this drug can lead to reactivation of the hepatitis B virus, resulting in acute severe hepatitis, liver failure, and death.
This drug is clinically used for the treatment of relapsed or drug-resistant follicular central lymphoma, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and so on. Patients should not use the drug blindly, and need to use the drug reasonably under the guidance of a doctor to avoid serious side effects.
