What does esd mean?

ESD is an acronym that in medical terms mainly refers to endoscopic submucosal dissection. It is generally a common method used to treat benign or low-grade malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract such as mesenchymal tumors and polyps, and can replace traditional surgical procedures. Nowadays, ESD can also be used to treat early cancerous lesions, such as early esophageal cancer and early mesenchymal tumors of the stomach. ESD is now carried out more often to relieve patients from other surgical complications and may be less traumatic, but there are indications, and it is not suitable for ESD if the stage is relatively not too early.
