The effect of Four Reversals and Five Ling San

Si Reverse San combined with Wu Ling San is suitable for the treatment of liver and spleen disorders caused by water qi permeating the triple jiao and invading the liver and spleen internally. Si Hei San is a Chinese herbal formula made of Chai Hu, Bai Shao, Citrus aurantium dulcis and Glycyrrhiza glabra with the efficacy of dispersing the liver and regulating the spleen by dispersing evil spirits and relieving depression, and is mainly used for treating the syndrome of Yang depression and syncopal syndrome (the poor circulation of yang qi leading to coldness of the limbs), which is characterized by lack of warmth in the hands and feet, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, and heavy weight in the lower part of the body, and it can also cure the symptoms of dysfunctionality of the liver and the spleen, which are characterized by distending pain of the ribs and the abdomen. Wu Ling San is a Chinese herbal formula made of Poria, Gui Zhi, Ze Diarrhea, Poria, and Atractylodes Macrocephala with the efficacy of warming yang and transforming qi (warming the yang qi in the body), inducing dampness and promoting the movement of water, mainly used for the treatment of dysuria (unruly urination), edema, abdominal distention, vomiting, and diarrhea due to the lack of yang and transforming qi (the body’s qi is blocked), and the internal stagnation of dampness and water (dampness and water stagnate in the body). The combination of the two medicines is effective in treating the disorders of the liver and spleen caused by the diffusion of water qi into the San Jiao and internal invasion of the liver and spleen, as the qi and fluid return to the normal path and the qi can flow smoothly. The contraindications and adverse effects of the two drugs are not clear at present. Specific medication should be taken under the guidance of a medical specialist.
