Inflammation is a relatively broad range of pathological changes that can be caused not only by pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses, but also by non-infectious factors. Whether inflammation is able to get better on its own depends mainly on the disease that it represents and whether it is a self-limiting disease. If the disease is simply a process similar to a small cold, it is likely that the inflammation will slowly subside, even without taking any medication and simply by taking care of rest. However, there are some inflammatory conditions that are more extensive, such as those causing severe infections, and the inflammation usually does not disappear quickly without appropriate treatment. Even after it disappears, it is likely to leave after-effects. Inflammation without medication is only seen when the condition is relatively mild and does not last long. If the inflammation is persistent or more pronounced and may cause sequelae, treatment is still recommended.
