How to Determine if You Need a Rabies Vaccine

Secondary exposure or tertiary exposure: secondary exposure refers to being scratched by pets without breaking the skin, and tertiary exposure refers to being scratched or bitten by pets with bleeding or broken skin. Rabies vaccine is required for secondary or tertiary exposure, and rabies immunoglobulin is required for tertiary exposure.
