What happens when the difference between the two eyes is too great?

If the difference between the two eyes is too big, it may lead to complications such as poor stereo vision, amblyopia and increase in the number of eyes.
1. Poor stereoscopic vision: If the difference between the two eyes is large, when the patient looks at the same object, the visual center of the brain is unable to integrate what the two eyes see into a three-dimensional object, thus leading to poor stereoscopic vision of the patient.
2. Amblyopia: If there is a big difference between the degrees of both eyes of the patient, i.e. refractive error, the patient may have blurred vision, and after a long period of time, the eye with poorer visual acuity may develop into amblyopia.
3. Increase in myopia: If the difference between the two eyes is too large, resulting in blurred vision, patients are prone to visual fatigue, eye soreness and other discomforts, which can lead to an increase in the myopia of the patient.
It is recommended that patients with too large a difference between the two eyes should consult a doctor in a timely manner to assess their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
