Why do your eyes water for no reason?

Tears for no reason, clinically called overflowing tears, mostly seen in the following cases: First, tear duct obstruction or tear duct stenosis, the tear duct system includes tear dots, tear ducts, common tear ducts, nasolacrimal ducts and other structures, one of the parts of the blockage or narrowing, it is called tear duct obstruction or tear duct stenosis. It can be caused by congenital abnormal development of the lacrimal duct or by acquired trauma, inflammation, tumor, stone and other factors. For children with congenital lacrimal duct obstruction, lacrimal duct irrigation or lacrimal duct exploration can be done, and most of the children can be cured. For adults with lacrimal duct obstruction or narrowing, lacrimal duct placement or nasal lacrimal sac anastomosis is needed. The lid ectropion, age-related lower lid ectropion, or scarring lower lid ectropion, causes the lower tear dots to ectropion, weakening the siphoning effect and preventing the normal drainage of tears into the nasal cavity, resulting in tearing, which is mainly treated with lid ectropion correction surgery. Conjunctival laxity, especially in the lower dome, causes the lower tear dots to be buried inside the conjunctival folds, affecting their siphoning function of tears, and can be treated with conjunctival laxity correction surgery.
