What are the indications for distal gastric cancer

Distal stomach cancer belongs to a kind of disease with no indications and can occur in any population, but it is more common in middle-aged and old-aged people. Distal gastric cancer is a common type of gastric cancer and has a better prognosis than other parts of the stomach. Surgery is the only possible means to achieve cure. Surgery for distal gastric cancer has indications, mainly for patients who can have complete resection and thorough lymph node dissection, and who can tolerate the surgery. Patients who have already developed distant metastases should not undergo surgical treatment because the inability to completely remove the lesion cannot improve the prognosis and the quality of life of the patients. Thus distal gastric cancer is a disease with no indication per se, but there are strict indications for treatment.
