Is thyroid stimulating hormone 0.17 hyperthyroidism?

Thyrotropin 0.17μIU/ml may be hyperthyroidism, which needs to be diagnosed in combination with other tests and patient’s symptoms. Thyrotropin is a hormone secreted by the pituitary gland, which is affected by the thyrotropin-releasing hormone secreted by the hypothalamus and the feedback of thyroid hormone. The normal range of thyrotropin is 0.35-5.5μIU/ml, which needs to be analyzed due to the different methods and reagents of the examination and the different reference indexes of each hospital. The diagnosis of hyperthyroidism requires the fulfillment of three conditions: (1) hypermetabolic symptoms and signs; (2) goiter; (3) increased serum thyroid hormone levels and decreased thyrotropin. The diagnosis can be established when the above three conditions are met. Hyperthyroidism hypermetabolic manifestations include agitation, irritability and insomnia, palpitations, fatigue, fear of heat, excessive sweating, loss of weight, hyperphagia, increased frequency of bowel movements or diarrhea.
