Lung CT was normal last year, and nodules appear this year. Possible reasons include: benign nodules, early stage of lung cancer, lung metastasis of malignant tumors and so on.
1. Benign nodules: if pneumonia infection, tuberculosis infection, lung contusion, lung bleeding, etc. occur, lung tissues will be damaged and nodules will be formed, but the nodules are benign and symptomatic and causative treatments are sufficient.
2. Early stage of lung cancer: Lung nodules newly appeared in the past one year may be primary lung cancer, which is usually in the early stage of lung cancer. Surgery should be performed as soon as possible after the nodules are clearly malignant, and most of the patients don’t need to have any subsequent auxiliary treatment after surgical resection.
3. Lung metastasis of malignant tumors: malignant tumors can have lung metastasis and form lung nodules, for example, osteosarcoma, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, etc. Patients with a history of malignant tumors and newly developed lung nodules should consider the possibility of lung metastasis.
It is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible for diagnosis of new lung nodules, so as to clarify the nature of lung nodules in time, and then follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
