What’s a uterine biopsy?

Uterine biopsy refers to a biopsy of the endometrium, in which a small portion of endometrial tissue is removed with biopsy forceps under hysteroscopy, and the tissue of the endometrium is examined pathologically to clarify benign or malignant endometrial lesions. Endometrial biopsy is performed to clarify the diagnosis of abnormalities such as unexplained intrauterine bleeding or excessive endometrial thickening. A uterine biopsy is a common diagnostic procedure that can identify endometrial lesions at an early stage by sending a uterine biopsy for pathologic examination. If the lesion is benign, it can be treated with oral medication or surgery. If the endometrial lesions are malignant, they can be detected earlier and can be treated with a combination of surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, which can improve the survival rate of patients.
