Thoracic spine osteophytes can show the following symptoms: 1. There will be obvious pain throughout the thoracic spine. Once thoracic spine osteophytes appear, they often cause pain in the entire thoracic back, and the pain may increase when the patient is cold or overworked. 2. Depending on the type of osteophyte, the patient may experience hunching and stiffening of the spine. 3. For example, when the patient does gymnastics involving the trunk or stretches, there is often a popping sound somewhere in the back. 4. It may manifest as a decrease in the mobility of the patient’s spine. Once the thoracic vertebral osteophytes appear, the patient will often feel a significant tightness and unfavorable movement in the low back or back of the shoulder when doing activities involving the trunk and lumbosacral area.
