What’s wrong with feeling your heart skip a beat?

If the patient is self-conscious of a pounding heart, it is considered to be due to hyperthyroidism or heart failure. The first step is to exclude organic lesions, and if no organic lesions are eventually found, it is considered to be due to the patient’s own cardiac neurosis, or disorders of phytoneurological function regulation. It is recommended that the patient combine with drugs that inhibit sympathetic excitability, which can help to improve the symptoms of self-conscious heart beating. The patient is advised to take oral bisoprolol or metoprolol to help improve this uncomfortable symptom, and may also combine with the oral administration of the proprietary Chinese medicine Heart Stabilizing Granules, which may further improve the symptoms of panic and palpitations. Patients can also have an ambulatory electrocardiogram, or check BNP, cardiac ultrasound, and chest X-ray, which can help to rule out the presence of current organic pathology.
