The incidence of colorectal cancer in economically developed areas is also developed

The incidence of colorectal cancer in Guangdong is increasing by 4.2% per year, which is nearly twice the world average rate (2%)! In the Eurasian Colorectal Surgery Conference held in Guangzhou, Prof. Wang Jianping, President of the Conference, specifically mentioned in his report that colorectal cancer in China tends to be high from low incidence, and the absolute number of incidence and death in recent years has exceeded that of the United States. Especially in economically developed regions such as Guangdong and Shanghai, the incidence rate is increasing at an annual rate of 4.2%, which exceeds the average growth rate of 3.9% in China and far exceeds the world average growth rate of 2%. Contrary to the rising incidence of colorectal cancer in many countries, the incidence of colorectal cancer in the United States has been declining in recent years, which is closely related to the vigorous implementation of early screening for colorectal cancer in the United States. It takes 8-15 years for colorectal cancer to develop from benign adenoma to cancer, and 70% of colorectal cancer can be detected early and intervened early through screening. The cost of this screening is only a few dollars, and it is best to include this item in the routine physical examination for units with conditions.
