The relationship between blood pressure and the heart

Blood pressure is closely related to the heart because patients with long-term hypertension can lead to heart disease: 1. Patients with long-term hypertension will experience increased pressure load on the heart, increased secretion of catecholamines and increased secretion of angiotensin, all of which can cause excessive proliferation of cardiomyocytes and interstitial fibrosis. 2. Long-term hypertension can also lead to hypertrophy and dilation of the left ventricle and increased afterload on the heart muscle, thus further aggravating heart failure. 3. The heart disease can be further aggravated by chronic hypertension, which can lead to ventricular remodeling and therefore heart failure. 4. Chronic hypertension can cause vascular endothelial damage and patients are prone to coronary atherosclerosis, which can also aggravate the burden on the heart. 5. Patients with chronic hypertension also have microcirculatory dysfunction, which is also a cause of heart failure or arrhythmia.
