Causes of rosacea formation and treatment

Rosacea, also known as rosacea, is a skin disease characterized by redness of the nose with papules, pustules and dilated capillaries, resembling strawberries or ripe tomatoes. Rosacea is the name given to this disease because the lesions are often rose-red and resemble acne. It is mostly seen in middle-aged people between the ages of 30 and 50, with more women than men, but severe cases are often seen in men. It is common in people with high facial oil secretion. It occurs in the center of the face, especially on the nose and sides, the cheeks, between the eyebrows and the chin, often in a five-point distribution (i.e., the tip of the nose, between the eyebrows, the cheeks, the jaw, the nasolabial folds, etc.). The lesions are initially temporary paroxysmal erythema, flushing, and then persist, with superficial capillary dilation; months or years later, batches of pinhead to soy-sized papules and small pustules appear; late nasal tissue hypertrophy, the formation of purple-red nodules of varying sizes, the surface is uneven, resulting in nasal redundancy, the lesions can be aggravated in the spring and when emotional stress and fatigue. Etiology 1, traditional Chinese medicine believes that: eating disorders, gastrointestinal dysfunction, endocrine disorders, genetics, hot and cold uneven, and over-eating spicy stimulation, tea, wine, coffee and other stimulating food, can make the facial vasomotor nerve dysfunction, capillary dilation for a long time, resulting in the disease; 2, Western medicine believes that: high body sex hormones, lack of trace elements in the body (zinc, ketones,), etc.; 3, hair follicle and Local recurrent infection is one of the important factors in the development of the disease. Clinical manifestations The course of the disease is slow and usually divided into three stages, but there is no obvious boundary between the stages. 1. Erythema and capillary dilatation stage The middle of the face, mainly around the nose and nose, can also involve the cheeks, forehead and chin. Initially, the erythema is obvious when eating irritating food, sudden change of temperature and mental excitement, and gradually the erythema becomes persistent and local capillary dilation appears in the form of dendrites, mainly distributed in the tip of the nose and the nose. It is often accompanied by enlarged nasal follicular pores and increased sebum secretion. It may last for several months to several years and then progress to the papulopustular stage. 2. Papulopustular stage On the basis of erythema and capillary dilation, acne-like follicular papules and pustules appear repeatedly, but no acne is formed. The lesions may sometimes appear as deep inflammatory nodules, boils or cysts. 3.Nasal superfluous period Due to long-term congestion, repeated infection, proliferation of connective tissue in the nose, abnormal increase in sebaceous glands, the formation of bulging nodules of different sizes, resulting in the appearance of the tip of the nose hypertrophy, deformity such as superfluous. The enlarged sebaceous glands are visible on the surface of the nasal redundancy, and when squeezed, there are streaks of white sticky sebum overflowing. Severe nasal redundancy is usually seen in men over 40 years of age. Diagnosis and Differential Diagnosis Based on the age of onset, distribution, and typical manifestations of each stage of lesions, it is easy to diagnose. It is not difficult to distinguish from acne vulgaris, seborrheic dermatitis and perioral dermatitis. Treatment 1. General treatment Avoid spicy and stimulating food and alcohol, avoid sun exposure and excessively cold or hot stimulation, avoid mental tension, and maintain a good state of mind and routine. Gastrointestinal disorders should be treated in a timely manner to keep the bowel movement smooth. Adjust endocrine disorders. 2, local treatment Fusidic acid cream, Bactrim and other anti-inflammatory and antiseptic creams can be used. It helps to reduce erythema and the fading of papules and pustules, and the maintenance treatment can reduce the recurrence of patients. 3.Chinese herbal medicine treatment is mainly to clear heat and detoxify the blood and dispel wind. We can use Jing Fang Tang, Dredging Liver and Blood Soup, San Huang Detoxification Tang and other additions. 4.Other treatment For those with obvious capillary dilation, laser treatment and microdermabrasion have satisfactory effect.
