What about small bowel adhesions?

The treatment measures for small bowel adhesion should be based on the specific condition, and the appropriate treatment should be chosen, such as symptomatic treatment, surgical treatment and so on.
Small bowel adhesion is mostly seen as a complication after abdominal surgery, there will be different degrees of intestinal adhesion after abdominal surgery, asymptomatic intestinal adhesion generally do not need special treatment. Clinical symptoms of small bowel adhesion can be manifested as abdominal pain, abdominal distension, accompanied by nausea and vomiting and other symptoms, and in severe cases, intestinal obstruction can occur.
If the clinical symptoms of small bowel adhesion are mild and no serious complications occur, the treatment is generally symptomatic. For example, if abdominal pain occurs, the treatment is based on antispasmodic and analgesic, often using scopolamine; nausea and vomiting can use antiemetic drugs, such as brompheniramine pilocarpine and so on. Severe vomiting requires attention to systemic supportive therapy. Medications should be applied under medical supervision.
If small bowel adhesions are severe, intestinal adhesion release under laparoscopic conditions is recommended, and if it leads to serious complications, such as strangulated bowel obstruction, surgery may be required.
