Multiple adenomas of the colon are generally clinically classified as a more serious form of benign disease. From a pathological point of view, multiple adenomas of the colon are benign diseases, that is, they are benign tumors. However, in terms of the risk factors for colon cancer, that is, colon malignancy, adenomas of the colon have the potential to evolve into colon cancer with long-term stimulation. Clinically, for multiple adenomas in the colon, the current treatment is to perform local intestinal canal resection for larger adenomas, such as those with a diameter of more than 1 cm, or those with a wide basal type, which can be done laparoscopically. For adenomatous polyps less than 1 cm in diameter or with a tip, endoscopic resection can be used, while regular follow-up is necessary to prevent cancerous changes.
