What are the clinical manifestations of osteoarthritis?

  Clinical manifestations of osteoarthritis: Osteoarthritis starts slowly and is often asymptomatic in the early stages, with pain, stiffness, limited joint motion, and joint loss in the later stages. The sites of occurrence are the knee, hip, distal interphalangeal (DIP), proximal interphalangeal (PIP), and small joints of the spine. In the PIP it is called Bouchard’s node.  Symptoms: 1. Pain is usually the initial complaint of the patient and appears early after overuse or activity and is relieved by rest. Pain may also occur at rest in the late stages.  2. Stiffness A feeling of tightness and slow movement of the joint. Stiffness typically strikes in the morning but lasts 15 to 30 minutes, with longer duration in rheumatoid arthritis (RA).  3, weakness and loss of use Due to pain, stiffness, joint deformity, soft tissue contracture, muscle spasm.  4. Swollen or enlarged joints.  Signs: 1. pressure pain, pressure pain on the joint line.  2.Joint enlargement.  3, joint rubbing sensation, obvious rubbing sensation has greater significance for diagnosis.  4, restricted movement moderate to severe arthritis appears.  5, deformity manifestation: for flexion contracture poor alignment, semi-dislocation joint expansion.  6, walking gait changes, appearing swaying, limping, etc.
