Non-atrophic gastritis with erosion belongs to the category of “stomach pain” in Chinese medicine, and can be treated according to the identification of the type of stomach pain, such as stasis and blood obstruction with Lost Smile San, liver and stomach disharmony (the disharmony between the function of the liver ascending and the function of the stomach descending) with Zuojin Pill, and damp-heat obstruction (the accumulation of damp and heat evils to form stasis and blockage) with Qingzhong Tang, and so on.
1. Lost Smile San: It has the efficacy of removing stasis and relieving pain (removing blood stasis to relieve pain), and can treat stomach pain caused by stasis and blood stagnation in the meridians and collaterals. It is contraindicated for pregnant women, and should not be applied to those with blood deficiency or those without blood stasis.
2. Zuo Jin Wan: It has the efficacy of dispersing the liver and harmonizing the stomach, diarrhoeing fire and relieving pain, and can treat stomach pain caused by liver-fire violating the stomach (fire produced by the liver encroaching on the stomach). Note that it is forbidden for those who are allergic to this product, not suitable for those who have spleen and stomach deficiency (spleen and stomach weakness and cold), and should be taken under the guidance of a physician by patients with severe chronic diseases, children, pregnant women, lactating women, and the elderly and the infirm.
3. Qingzhong Tang: It has the efficacy of clearing away heat and resolving dampness, regulating qi and harmonizing the stomach, and can treat stomach pain caused by dampness-heat obstruction. The adverse effects and contraindications of this formula are not clear.
