Effects of Ginger Powder

Ginger powder is pungent and hot, and belongs to the spleen, stomach, heart and lung meridians. It warms the middle Jiao, disperses cold, warms the lungs, dissolves drinks, and returns Yang to the veins. It can treat abdominal distension and abdominal pain caused by deficiency and cold in the spleen and stomach, and is used with Radix Codonopsis and Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, and also with Fructus Peppercornis and Syzygium Caramelum to treat abdominal pain caused by yin and cold, and abdominal pain caused by heat in the upper Jiao and cold in the stomach, with Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati and Rhizoma Pinelliae. It warms the middle Jiao and disperses cold, and can also be used to treat cold stomach and vomiting, with gao liang jiang. For vomiting in pregnancy with stomach cold, combining with Hanxia and Ginseng. For vomiting when food is ingested, combining with Huang Lian and Scutellaria baicalensis. For diarrhea due to cold spleen, combining with Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae and Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng. For cold limbs and weak pulse due to Yang deficiency of heart and kidney, combining Powdered Ginger with Radix Polygoni Multiflori. For coughing and wheezing caused by cold drinks depressing the lungs, and coldness of the back, combining with Sinapis and Ephedra. For dry stool caused by cold spleen, combining with Radix Polygoni Multiflori and Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori.
