The proper way to administer cervical medication is to wash the vulva first and then insert the medication vaginally into the cervix. There are two types of cervical medication: solid and liquid. If you are using solid medication, usually after washing the vulva with lotion, lie flat on the bed with your legs spread apart and put on a disposable finger cuff and slowly insert the medication from the vagina to the deepest part, where you can touch a cylindrical body, which is the cervix, and place the medication underneath the cervix. If you are using liquid medication, the liquid medication needs to be given by a doctor. The doctor will use a speculum to open the vagina, wipe the cervix clean of localized mucus, and then place the medication on the cervix locally. If a cervical cotton ball is used to administer the medication, a cotton ball with a threaded end is dipped in the medication and inserted into the cervix, which is removed after 12 to 24 hours. Women’s cervix is relatively fragile, during the medication can not take a bath to avoid local inflammatory reaction, it is recommended to maintain personal hygiene and sexual hygiene, regular gynecological examination.
