Where does the stomach ache usually hurt?

The anatomical location of the stomach is in the epigastric region, but stomach pain may be in the epigastric region or it may radiate to other areas such as the back. Stomach pain usually manifests as pain in the epigastric region below the xiphoid process, which refers to the lowest part of the bony structure of the chest, between the two rib arches. Most stomach pains are located in the upper abdomen, such as those caused by gastritis and gastric ulcers. However, in patients with duodenal ulcers, which are posterior wall ulcers, the pain may radiate to the back of the body and not be limited to the epigastric region. Some patients may present with pain in the left or right part of the upper abdomen. There may be other causes of pain such as pancreatitis. It is recommended to consult a doctor for further investigations, to identify the cause with the help of the doctor, and to administer targeted treatment or therapy.
