Sunstroke and pyrexia essentially belong to the same disease, is one of the three types of heat stroke, is the most serious type.
Heat stroke refers to the patient in the hot weather, high humidity and windless environment, the thermoregulatory center dysfunction, sweat gland failure and excessive loss of water, electrolytes and thus the related symptoms, mainly divided into three types of heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat (sun) ejection disease.
The main manifestation of pyrexia is high fever with very mental disorder. The brain, liver, kidneys and heart organs are damaged at an early stage. Exertional pyrexia is mainly caused by excessive heat production, and non-exertional pyrexia is caused by reduced heat dissipation.
Exertional pyrexia occurs mostly in young adults, usually after physical labor, manifested by profuse sweating, increased heart rate, increased pulse pressure, acute liver and kidney failure, disseminated intravascular coagulation, and multi-organ dysfunction, with a high mortality rate.
Non-exertional pyrexia is mostly seen in the old and frail people who live in poorly ventilated environments and pregnant women.
The patient is sweatless, the skin is dry and hot and red, there may be delirium, coma, and in severe cases, hypotension, shock, arrhythmia, heart failure, pulmonary edema and cerebral edema, etc., and in severe cases, it is life-threatening.
The symptoms of heat stroke need to go to the emergency department of the hospital in time.
