Differentiation between lumbar disc herniation and lumbar spondylolisthesis

The difference between lumbar disc herniation and lumbar spine slippage includes the following aspects: 1, the pathogenesis is different, lumbar disc herniation is due to the protruding disc compressing the nerve, resulting in back pain, numbness and pain of the lower limbs and symptoms of dysfunction. Lumbar spine slippage is due to degeneration or congenital lumbar spine insufficiency in the elderly, resulting in mutual displacement of lumbar vertebrae and slippage; 2, the symptoms are different, lumbar disc herniation can have back pain, lower limbs, numbness, pain and dysfunction. Most of the symptoms of lumbar spondylolisthesis are lumbar pain, and only at the final more serious stage can there be symptoms of numbness, pain and dysfunction of the lower limbs; 3, different treatment methods, most of the lumbar disc herniation is mainly conservative treatment, and some patients need surgery. A very small number of patients with lumbar spondylolisthesis need surgery, and the vast majority of patients can be treated conservatively.
