Women’s Yin Replenishment

The methods for women to replenish yin include taking medication, acupuncture, and so on.
1. Taking medication: Commonly used medications include Liu Wei Di Huang Pill and Zuo Gui Wan.
Six-flavored Dihuang Pill is composed of ripened rhubarb, cornelian cherry, Chinese yam, mudanpi, poria, and zedoaria. It is used for dizziness and tinnitus caused by kidney yin deficiency, lumbar and knee pain and weakness, tidal fever (a burst of heat, feeling that the heat comes from inside the bone to the outside), night sweating (abnormal sweating after going to sleep and stopping sweating after waking up), spermatorrhea. It should not be taken by patients with cold and fever.
Zuo Gui Wan, composed of Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Semen Cuscutae, Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae, Radix Kamehameha Gum, Radix Deer Antler Gum, Rhizoma Dioscoreae, Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum and Fructus Lycii. It has the effect of nourishing the kidney and tonifying yin. It is used for lumbar soreness and knee weakness caused by true yin deficiency, night sweating, god fatigue (lack of spirit) and dry mouth. It is not recommended for pregnant women and prohibited for children.
2. Acupuncture and moxibustion treatment: commonly used acupuncture points are Guanyuan, Ren Yu, Sanyinjiao, Taixi, etc., but the specific use of acupuncture points should be decided by the doctor according to the patient’s condition.
