Triglycerides 2.5 need to take lipid-lowering drugs

Triglyceride 2.5mmol/L, suggesting hypertriglyceridemia, can be preceded by lifestyle intervention, and if the triglyceride is still abnormal after the intervention and retesting, you can consider Beta lipid-lowering drug therapy.
The normal range of triglyceride is 0.8~1.7mmol/L, and more than 2.3mmol/L is elevated. When the triglyceride is 2.5mmol/L, it is slightly elevated, and lifestyle intervention can be carried out first. If the triglyceride is still abnormal after lifestyle intervention, beta drug therapy can be considered.
1. Lifestyle intervention: Choose low-salt, low-fat diet in daily life, quit smoking and drinking, avoid excessive fatty acid intake, and eat less high-fat food such as animal offal, egg yolk, fish roe and squid. If you are obese or overweight, you also need to lose weight, and you can choose aerobic exercise such as swimming, cycling and running.
2. If triglyceride levels cannot be effectively controlled through dietary structure and lifestyle modification, patients can take oral beta-lipid-lowering drugs such as benzofibrate and fenofibrate, which can help lower triglycerides.
Long-term triglyceride increase has the risk of atherosclerosis, and even cause pancreatitis, etc. If the patient’s triglyceride is 2.5mmol/L, it is recommended to go to the hospital as soon as possible, and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
