Does myopia increase in adulthood?

Most people’s myopia can be gradually stabilized in adulthood, but a few people’s myopia will still deepen in adulthood, which is mostly related to bad eye habits and pathological myopia. After adulthood, myopia can be stabilized. However, some patients may continue to develop myopia, mainly due to eye fatigue caused by excessive use of the eyes, such as studying or working at close range for a long period of time. Other patients may develop pathologic myopia, in which the eye axis continues to lengthen and myopia continues to increase. Therefore, myopia patients need to develop good eye habits, reduce the time of eye use, and regularly check the visual acuity and optometry to avoid eye fatigue. It is recommended that myopia patients should consult a doctor in time to evaluate their condition and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment.
