Reasons why cataracts cannot be implanted with a lens

The reasons why cataract cannot be implanted with crystalline lens include allergy to IOL, low number of corneal endothelial cells, complicated diseases in the eye and so on.
1. Allergy to IOL: Some cataract patients are allergic to IOL, and after implantation of crystalline lens, it is easier for their health to be affected by the allergic condition, so this kind of cataract patients may not be suitable for crystalline lens implantation.
2. Low number of corneal endothelial cells: If the number of corneal endothelial cells is low, the patient may have complications such as corneal edema and large vesicular keratopathy after implantation of crystalline lens, which may affect the health of the eye, so this kind of people is not recommended to implant crystalline lens either.
3. Complicated diseases in the eye: If cataract patients themselves have complicated diseases such as severe vitreoretinal diseases, old uveitis, etc., after implanting the IOL, it may produce serious complications, so this kind of patients can not implant the crystalline lens for the time being.
It is recommended that patients go to the ophthalmology department of regular hospitals for consultation and follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment according to their actual conditions.
