How a colonoscopy is done where it enters the body

Enteroscopy enters the body through the anus. It uses a fibrous flexible tube about 140 cm long, bendable, with a light source at the end and a miniature electronic camera, which slowly enters the large intestine through the anus in order to check for lesions in the large intestine area. Colonoscopy is a diagnostic modality used by doctors to examine lesions within the large intestine and colon. During the procedure, the patient usually lies on the left side with the knees bent. The doctor slowly inserts the colonoscope through the anus and looks at the intestinal lumen for lesions, during which the patient may feel a sensation of abdominal distension and urge to have a bowel movement. The whole process takes about 20-30 minutes. If the patient needs to do colonoscopy, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital, the doctor combined with the patient’s condition and test results to determine whether and when to do the test, the patient should actively cooperate with the treatment.
