How long does a root canal take?

Root canal treatment usually takes one to two weeks to complete, depending on the condition of each individual’s tooth.

1. When pulpitis occurs in a tooth, the pulp is opened under local anesthesia. Under anesthesia, several root canals are located and directly extracted. Root canal preparation, flushing, root canal filling and tooth photography are performed.

2. Root canal treatment mainly removes decayed tissues in the tooth, then does nerve treatment, and finally achieves therapeutic effect through medication filling. Root canal treatment is usually not a complete cure at one time and may take about 2~4 times to complete. If the tooth is complex, it may take about a month to complete.

How long a root canal takes varies from person to person, and try not to eat or chew on the tooth being treated during treatment. When pulpitis or periapical inflammation occurs, you should be admitted to the hospital as soon as possible for root canal treatment to avoid deterioration of the condition, and pay attention to follow-up appointments on time during the treatment process.
