Acupuncture for polycystic ovary syndrome

Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome often present with amenorrhea, hirsutism, obesity, and acne. In polycystic patients who are preparing for pregnancy, ultrasound monitoring reveals the presence of several or even dozens of small follicles in the follicular phase of the ovary, but they are unable to develop into dominant follicles. What is the role of acupuncture in such cases? Clinically, acupuncture can help the development of follicles and promote the formation of dominant follicles; during ovulation, it helps to promote the breakage of follicles; and during the fertile period, it improves the tolerance of the endometrium and helps the fertilized egg to be laid. Acupuncture can be performed as a stand-alone program to promote ovulation, or as an adjunct to conditioning and Western medicine programs to improve follicle quality and increase the chances of conception!
