Whether the lymph node enlargement of mixed parotid tumor is malignant or not needs to be determined by combining clinical manifestations and diagnostic imaging, fine needle aspiration biopsy, and pathologic diagnosis. 1. Clinical manifestations. Mixed tumor of parotid gland grows slowly without conscious symptoms, and it is nodular in shape, when it grows slowly for a period of time, it suddenly accelerates the growth and is accompanied by pain and nerve palsy and other symptoms, it needs to be considered as malignant transformation. 2. Imaging diagnosis. It can be examined by ultrasound or ct, if there are occupying lesions, or the boundaries with surrounding tissues are not clear, and the shape of tumor is irregular, it is the manifestation of malignant changes. 3. Fine needle aspiration biopsy. Needle can be used to suck up the tumor tissue and make cytological examination to determine the benign or malignant nature of the tumor. 4. Histopathologic diagnosis. If the lymph nodes of mixed tumor of parotid gland are enlarged and want to judge whether the tumor is malignant or not, paraffin section can be taken after removing the tumor for diagnosis. Mixed parotid tumor can’t be judged as benign or malignant only by the swelling of lymph nodes, and it needs to go to the hospital to do complete physical and laboratory examination to confirm.
